HEPBURN, SASK.

Each year, Bethany College staff and faculty prepare, plan, and pray that the college’s courses, residences, service-learning trips, dramas, and ministry teams will shape the students and teach them to follow Christ with integrity and joy. Each year, staff and faculty at the Hepburn, Sask., school are shaped by these same students.

Some students come to the college after a year or two of work, some after travelling, and some right after high school. This year, Bethany welcomes 47 first-year students, 36 second years, 13 third years, and 12 fourth years.

Just as faculty and students begin to get to know each other, the students are sent off campus! First years are off to inner city ministries in Calgary, Kelowna, Saskatoon, and Regina. Second-year students head to the reserves of Sturgeon Lake, Beardy’s, and Hall Lake for an opportunity to connect with First Nations neighbours. Third-year students go to Redberry Bible Camp for a leadership module.

Students return Sept. 26, gathering again to talk about their experiences, study together in community, and learn of a God who creates and redeems his people. This year, in addition to our 47 first years, we have 36 second years returning, 13 third years, and 12 fourth years.

Summer is coming to an end, but a new season of life is beginning at Bethany.
