What can a church in Fresno, Cal., do to respond to suffering in Ukraine? In December 2014, the Warm Churches project was born out of conversations between pastor Fred Leonard of Mountain View Community Church and MB Mission Europe leader Johann Matthies. Matthies mobilized German and North American churches to help the eight ICOMB churches in Ukraine who were in desperate need.

When Wanda Froese’s husband Terrance became director of ministry for the Saskatchewan Conference of MB Churches last April, and the couple began meeting with MB leaders across the province, she noticed a common thread: “Women in ministry are lonely. They need a place to connect.”
“It’s like a walk through a Bible encyclopedia,” said B.C. conference minister Rob Thiessen after his tour of the the Metzger Historical Collection.
