Amid growing anticipation and excitement about the Mennonite World Conference Assembly (PA 2015) to be held in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania July 21-26, 2015, a number of questions keep surfacing within North American churches.
We lament the horrendous and inhumane atrocities, reports of which fill our newspapers and dominate our television screens. It is not difficult to imagine Jesus weeping today as he did in Luke 19:41–42. The world is not the way it was meant to be. At Jesus’ birth, the angels proclaimed “peace on earth” (Luke 2:14). Through Jesus, God calls the church to be God’s co-workers in the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18–19).
