The board of Bethany College, Hepburn, Sask., emerged from December board meetings with sobering news: the current school year (2014–2015) will be the 87-year-old rural Saskatchewan institution’s final year.

The involvement of several partners has pulled École de Théologie Évangélique de Montréal from the brink of closure. ETEM is in process of merging with partner school IBVIE (Institut Biblique V.I.E., a Christian and Missionary Alliance Bible college) and is drafting an agreement with Université Laval for accreditation. They will also receive funds from the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches (CCMBC).

by ContributorMore than 200 guests celebrated God’s provision of the school’s 14th president, Howard J. Wall, at the Bethany College campus, Sept. 24. Wall officially joined the Bethany team in July, but constituency, supporting churches, affiliate organizations, board of directors, faculty, staff, and students formally welcomed Wall to the role with the school’s first presidential inauguration in fall.
