Change rocked the Western church 500 years ago as successive groups discovered new things about God through Scripture, and separated from the Roman Catholic church. Renewal 2027 is a framework for a 10-year series of events within the Mennonite World Conference (MWC) global family, commemorating Anabaptism’s role in that period of culture and religious change called the Reformation.
“Wasn’t it beautiful that we didn’t just talk about prayer? We actually took time to pray,” said MB Church of Manitoba (MBCM) executive director Elton DaSilva. “Wasn’t it awesome to hear all those voices lifted up before the presence of God?”
After last year’s intense business sessions, the MB Church of Manitoba (MBCM) gave Assembly 2010 delegates a chance to attend equipping workshops and ask God to speak to them about the future. The province’s annual convention, held March 5–6 at Portage Avenue Church in Winnipeg, drew in some 230 delegates, and focused heavily on church planting and compassion ministries.
