You bet they can! Arvid Loewen, a member of North Kildonan MB Church, Winnipeg, mounted his bike July 1 and broke a Guinness cycling record July 14 while raising money for Kenyan orphans and street children. The 54-year-old grandpa’s cross-Canada route from Vancouver to Halifax took him 6,040 km – a distance nearly twice that of the Tour de France – in only 13 days, 6 hours, 13 minutes! All monies raised, including a $50,000 donation at the finish line, went to support the Mully Children’s Family Charitable Foundation.
