The annual MCC British Columbia Festival for World Relief Sept. 15–16, 2017, at the Abbotsford TRADEX raised more than $1M to support Mennonite Central Committee’s relief, development, and peace work locally and around the world.
MCC Festival Auction and Relief Sale
Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) B.C. annual relief sale at the Abbotsford Tradex Sept. 18–19, 2015, raised more than $685,000 to support uprooted and vulnerable people in countries like Syria, Iraq and Ukraine. Funds come from the combined totals of sale items, food concessions, auction, donations and cyclathon.
Jonathan Kornelsen’s teenaged “Menno” t-shirt concept that made his father laugh out loud is taking root as a fundraiser around B.C. and in two other provinces.
This year’s recession didn’t seem to dampen the spirit of giving at the 40th MCC Festival Auction and Relief Sale. The annual event drew thousands of people to the Abbotsford (B.C.) TRADEX to eat, shop, visit, play, listen, bid, and give, raising more than $650,000 for MCC’s Food for All projects around the world.
