God’s faithfulness celebrated wth sun and fun

As the sun shone on the longest day of the year, Simonhouse Bible Camp held an appreciation day to celebrate what the Lord has done and is continuing to do in northern Manitoba. The theme of June 21 was “Shine,” based on Matthew 5:16, “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Donors followed a pseudo-camp schedule, starting by praising the Lord in the chapel. Walking tours described how the camp’s facilities and activities are used in evangelism. Activities included scaling the rock climbing tower, participating in a fishing derby on a nearby lake, and making candles over a fire.

The event culminated with a banquet and program in the evening. Presenters thanked donors for their faithfulness, with special gratitude to those involved with the newly constructed Camp Centre facility.

The Camp Centre facility is more than a building. It means ongoing and expanded ministry for the future and signals to people in the area Simonhouse’s long-term commitment to northern Manitoba. This year will be record-breaking for attendance and overall use of the camp.
