Hip-hop artist Fresh IE’s (aka Rob Wilson) journey from pimp to Christian minister is a testimony to God’s transforming power. In her film Beyond the Beat, Leona Krahn (member at The Meeting Place, Winnipeg) documents Fresh IE’s influence, including his two Grammy nominations and his mentorship of young rappers. Residents of the North Winnipeg public housing project where Fresh IE grew up were invited to a free première. Formerly with Family Life Network, Fresh IE continues to speak to youth across Canada about choosing life over suicide and violence.
