A call to prayer for Canadian care homes

Canadian care homes struggle to keep the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic at bay, facing higher infection rates and increased isolation. They need our prayers and practical support at this time. As the body of Christ, may we come together in prayer for:

  • wisdom and endurance for management and staff as they work with health authorities to follow government requirements
  • healing, comfort and peace for residents as they deal with lockdown restrictions
  • understanding by—and support for—residents’ families as they deal with separation, illness and the loss of their loved ones
  • financial help to fund the purchase of facility and technology upgrades required to reduce isolation and increase communication between residents and their families

Here is a list of care homes operating under the Canadian Mennonite Health Assembly. As you read over the list, please pray for each residence and take a moment to visit their websites to find out how you can support them financially or in other practical ways.

Thank you for this call to pray and support those living and working in care homes. Your prayers are vitally needed and so appreciated.

I work at Sherbrooke Community Centre and Central Haven Special Care Home. The SKMB have a seat on our Board, because Central Haven originally was an MB ministry. Please add these to your list of homes. Thank you again.
