At its annual meetings in Fresno, Cal., June 8–9, 2012, the Mennonite Brethren Historical Commission approved development of several new grant programs, including an undergraduate student internship program, and stipends for research related to MB women.

The grave marker for early MB leader Jacob D. Reimer and his wife Wilhelmine, brought to Steinbach, Man., from Ukraine by Reimer family members, was unveiled in a permanent location in the Mennonite Heritage Village. Some 120 people – of whom 70 were descendants – attended an afternoon ceremony July 25.
The Mennonite Brethren Historical Commission (MBHC) is issuing a call for papers, on the theme “Searching for the Center and Defining Boundaries: Mennonite Brethren Experience as Anabaptists and Evangelicals,” for presentation at the upcoming Historical Commission symposium.
The U.S. MB conference met in Hillsboro, Kan., July 26–27 under the theme, “Transition Point: From a proud past to a promising future.” The timing of the convention coincided with the 100-year anniversary of Tabor College, the first MB institution of higher education in the United States.
