Marie earned an RN degree and diploma in psychiatric nursing in 1953, and graduated from MB Bible College, Winnipeg, in 1957. She served as director of nursing at Bethesda, Vineland, Ont. After studying business administration, she became executive secretary at Kirks Heating, Three Hills, Alta. Following 3 years of home care nursing in Medicine Hat, Alta., she completed a bachelor of public health administration at McGill University, Montreal. In 1969, Marie returned home to care for her mother. In 1972, Marie served the SIM Nurses Training School, Egbe, Nigeria. She found her 9 years at Walbern Agri Systems, Linden, an exciting challenge. Marie and Garth lived in New Meadows and Moscow, Idaho. Marie was known for her generosity, humour, solid faith, and skill as a pianist.
