Wesley Schapansky died Nov. 23, 2011. He was born Aug. 16, 1934 in Glen Kerr, Sask. to Peter and Elizabeth Schapansky. Wes married Margaret Penner July 14, 1957. He worked as a mechanic in Swift Current and Morse district, Sask., and later as a shop foreman. Wes achieved his journeyman ticket in mechanics and ended his working years at Dura Products as a machinist. Wes’s hobby was making 1/12 scale threshing machines and tractors. Wes could create or repair almost anything. He loved camping with his family. He enjoyed fishing, golf, and hockey. Wes devoted his life to caring for his family. Wes was a member of Bridgeway Community Church, Swift Current. His relationship with his Lord and Saviour was the most important thing. Wes and Margaret memorized Scripture together. Wes prayed for his family, his greatest wish being that they all have a personal relationship with Jesus. His life, example, and smile spoke volumes. Wes is mourned by Margaret; children Kelvin (Arlene), Connie (Bill) Schlamp, Maurice (Elaine); 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 7 siblings.
