Tina Jantzen died Dec. 9, 2010. She was born Dec. 25, 1920 in Blumenhof, Ukraine to Nicholai and Katharina Wiebe Redekopp. Her family immigrated to Canada in 1925. Seven of Tina’s siblings died as children; Mennonite Central Committee’s provision of food was instrumental in her survival. Tina went to Winkler Bible Institute in 1937. She also took sewing courses. Tina and Jack Jantzen married Oct. 6, 1945. Tina was baptized in 1956 into North Kildonan MB Church, Winnipeg. Tina and Jack had 8 healthy children in the first 13 years of marriage. Tina organized her church ladies’ group in producing some 100 quilts per year for MCC. Tina leaves a legacy of grace in difficult circumstances, prayer without ceasing for her family, appreciation for nature, and profound faith in the Creator. The memorial service was at McIvor Avenue MB Church, Winnipeg. Predeceased by Jack in 1992, 1 foster grandson, 1 brother, 1 brother-in-law; Tina is mourned by children Ron, Irene Lepp, Marlene, Carolyn Menaar, Ed, Dorothy Schapansky, Jane Woelk, Ken, and their families; 1 sister; 1 sister-in-law.
