Susie Friesen died Nov. 1, 2011 at 90. She was born Jan, 20, 1921 in Rosenfeld, Man. to Abram and Helena Klassen. Susie was baptized into Rosenfeld Evangelical Mennonite Mission Church May 25, 1942. She married Bernhard (Ben T.) Friesen Nov. 12, 1944. They made their home in Bergfeld, Man., for 33 years, then retired to Altona and Winkler, Man. Susie was a quiet, humble, forgiving person, caring for Ben through many years of illness before his death in 1997. A year prior to moving to Salem Home in 2003, she lived with daughter, Karen. She loved gardening, sewing, knitting, and embroidering. Susie’s strong faith in the Lord and his Word gave her strength and comfort. She was a member of Winkler MB Church. Predeceased by Ben, 6 siblings, 2 siblings in infancy; Susie is mourned by children Helen (Ernie) Kehler, Larry (Margo), Verna (Don) Lehmann, Marlene (Wayne) Lynch, Karen Sitompul; grandchildren; great-grandchildren.
