Deaths-Susan-VSusan’s family moved to Winkler, Man., where her father ran a honey farm, resulting in Susan’s lifelong dislike for bees. She attended 1 year of Bible school in Virgil, Ont., and then completed Grades 11 and 12 in a year. In the Carlton MB choir, Susan caught Neil’s eye, and their marriage lasted 60 years. Susan learned to cook, and sewed, crocheted, and made a house a home. Susan sang in the Songs of Faith trio that encouraged residents and staff at a home for the visually impaired for 25 years. Their 1964 record “Wonderful Stories of Love” included “Day by Day,” a song especially meaningful to Susan’s family. She enjoyed reading her son’s reviews in the auto section and learned to use a computer at 64 so she could email her daughter in the mission field. Though Susan struggled with illness, her faith in Christ and love for family remained constant.
