deaths-samuelSam’s family moved to Matsqui, B.C., in 1943, and he completed high school at Mennonite Educational Institute, Abbotsford, B.C. He accepted Jesus as Saviour. Sam attended Vancouver normal school in 1949. Sam taught in Fish Lake, Quesnel, and Joe Riche Road schools, B.C., before becoming principal of South Kelowna (B.C.) Elementary in 1954. Over his 33-year career, he was also principal of Mission Creek, East Kelowna, and Casorso Road Schools. In retirement, Sam travelled abroad, and enjoyed reading and walking outdoors. He was known for his hours of volunteer work with seniors. Sam’s last 5 years were spent at Brookhaven and  Mountainview Village care homes in Kelowna.
