RMartens_DeathsRudolf Martens died Mar. 2, 2012. He was born Sept. 11, 1934 in Winnipeg to Gerhard Martens and Anna Froese. At an early age, Rudy knew he would be a teacher. He came to faith in Jesus at a children’s Bible camp, and at 16, he was baptized into Sperling (Man.) MB Church. Rudy studied at Winkler (Man.) Bible Institute and University of Manitoba. Rudy married Susan Kasdorf of Niverville, Man., in 1960. Rudy loved the church and served in various capacities. Reading, gardening, and watching sports or politics on TV were favourite pastimes. After his 35-year teaching career in Manitoba, Rudy and Susan moved to Abbotsford, B.C., where they became members of Bakerview (MB) Church. Predeceased by 1 sister, 1 brother in infancy; Rudy is mourned by Susan; sons Daryl (Shirley), Kevin (Lisa); 6 grandchildren; 2 siblings.
