Peter Bernhard Enns died Feb. 28, 2012 at 93. He was born Jan. 23, 1919 in Golyschevo, Russia to Bernhard John Enns and Elizabeth Dueck. The family immigrated to Canada in 1924. Peter was baptized Sept. 12, 1937, into Newton (Man.) MB Church (now Community Fellowship Church). He married Mary Madeleine Derksen Dec. 12, 1943. Peter graduated from University of Manitoba with BSc and BEd degrees, and from University of B.C. with a masters in agriculture. He was a plant manager in Oliver, B.C., and Winnipeg, until making a career change to teaching high school. Peter retired in 1984. Mary died Aug. 18, 1988, and Peter married Lydia Koop Dec. 2, 1989. Peter was a member of Elmwood MB Church, Winnipeg, before transferring to Killarney Park MB Church, Vancouver, in 1990. His faith was his life’s foundation. He was an active member of the Gideons and a volunteer at the Gleaners. Peter loved travel, photography, and golf. Predeceased by Mary, Peter is mourned by Lydia; children Bruce (Edie), Elaine Argus (Stuart); stepchildren Sharon (Bodo Goetzke), Lorraine (John Baggio), Sheldon Koop (Liz); 8 grandchildren and their 2 spouses.
