Maria Agnes Doerksen died May 24, 2010. She was born July 23, 1925 in Burwalde, Russia to Jacob and Agnes Enns. The family immigrated to Canada in 1926, arriving in Herbert, Sask., months later settling in Cabri, Sask. Mary was baptized Aug. 3, 1942, in Swift Current, Sask. She attended Herbert Bible School 1942–1944. In 1944, the family moved to Sardis (now Greendale), B.C. Mary and Abe Doerksen married June 29, 1947. They farmed in Abbotsford and served as custodians at Clearbrook MB Church. In 1991 they moved to a condominium. Predeceased by Abe in 1994, son Bruce in 1976, 1 infant sister; Mary is mourned by children Chester and Annie, Dennis and Dawn, Lawrence and Jane, Bev and Ken, Mark and Irene, Jim and Dolores; 15 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers.
