Lfoth_deathsLydia Foth died Mar. 3, 2012. She was born Mar. 27, 1939 in Schoenau, Ukraine to Abram and Katherina Friesen. The family immigrated to Canada in 1947, settling in Springstein, and later Winnipeg. Lydia was baptized into South End MB Church, Winnipeg, where she met Herbert Foth. They married Aug. 13, 1960. After 2 years, they moved to Niverville, Man. When her sons were in school, Lydia worked part-time tutoring and selling encyclopedias. She won a sales promotion trip to Hawaii. She was a member of Niverville MB Church, where she was active in the Pioneer Girls ministry. Lydia supported her sons’ education. In 2001, she became ill with Alzheimer’s disease. Herb cared for her at home until June 24, 2003, when she was admitted to Bethesda Personal Care Home, Steinbach, Man. She became a member of Steinbach MB Church. Predeceased by all her siblings, Lydia is mourned by Herb; sons Anthony (Chiemi), Richard (Luana); 1 granddaughter.
