Death_IssacJohn met Helen at 17 when he was helping with Fraser River flood clean up. They farmed in Manitoba, then moved to Chilliwack, where John became master mechanic at Butchart Motors. In Vancouver, he started his own garage and auto parts store, and later in Richmond, B.C., a tent trailer rental facility. John was an avid curler. At Killarney Park MB Church, he served the catering committee, maintained the facilities, and taught women mechanics. He enjoyed camping and fishing, and taking the RV to Palm Springs, Cal. John was active in setting up the Gleaners in Oliver and the Fraser Valley, B.C., sending soup stock to feed hungry people around the world. He travelled across the U.S.A., Europe, and Mexico. His love of family was an inspiration.
