Jacob Reimer died Oct. 10, 2010. He was born May 24, 1934 near Winkler, Man. to Cornelius and Justina Reimer. He accepted Christ as Saviour as a youth and was baptized in 1953. He graduated from teacher’s college in 1958. Jake married Beatrice Trinke in 1959. He taught in Plum Coulee, Man., until 1970 and then moved to Morden, Man., where he was principal of Maple Leaf School for 18 years. After early retirement, Jake and Beatrice spent 2 years in Akron, Pa., volunteering in the MCC warehouse. They managed the Winkler MCC Thrift Store for 2 years and served 1 term at Steinreich Bible School, Mexico. Jake was involved at Westside Community Church, Morden, as Sunday school teacher, moderator, and greeter. Jake loved travelling. Throughout his battle with cancer, he demonstrated courage, grace, and steadfast faith in God. Predeceased by 1 granddaughter in infancy, 1 brother; Jake is mourned by Beatrice; children Rob (Myrna), Ken (Karen), Marilyn (Jereme) Brown; 10 grandchildren; 5 siblings.
