Jacob Peter Bekker died Nov. 17, 2011. He was born Dec. 15, 1931 in Chinook, Alta. He graduated from high school at Rosthern (Sask.) Junior College, earned a dental degree from University of Alberta in 1954, and began his 40-year dental practice in Grand Forks, B.C. Jacob enjoyed grouse hunting with his sons and golfing and curling with friends. He served on the original board of directors of Pines Bible Camp, on the hospital board, and as treasurer of Gospel Chapel (MB), Grand Forks. Jacob walked to work every day, and in retirement, to buy the paper and do the crossword. An active member of Gospel Chapel, Jacob lived his faith in his Lord and Saviour. Predeceased by 3 siblings, Jacob is mourned by his wife Marge; children Geoff (Dorothy), Geordine (Simon), Scott (Vicki); 10 grandchildren and their 2 spouses; 2 great-grandchildren; 4 siblings.
