After experiencing the horrors of WWII, Hilla’s family immigrated to Manitoba in 1948. She and Jake owned a lumber business in Newton, Man., for 33 years. Jake died in 1995, and 2 years later, Hilla moved to Winnipeg. Hilla was always concerned about her family’s physical and spiritual wellbeing, regularly assuring them of her love and prayers. She was a willing volunteer at church and MCC. Mourned by her family and friend Sarah Giesbrecht, Hilla will be remembered for her strong faith.
