Death_hertha vothHerta Judith Voth died Jan. 23, 2012. She was born Jan. 3, 1923 in Lugovsk, Russia to Johannes T. and Katherina Voth. The family immigrated to Canada in 1925, pioneering in Springstein, Man. Herta’s parents made God’s Word and prayer part of everyday life. At 14, Herta accepted Jesus as Saviour and was baptized 2 years later into Springstein MB Church, Winnipeg. Studies at Winkler Bible Institute, Man., and nurse’s training at Misericordia Hospital, Winnipeg, opened up a lifetime of service in Canada, Colombia, Panama, and Bolivia. After returning to Canada, she became a mother and grandmother to Mukai, Rujeko, and Tinaye Muza. Herta lived simply, with deep faith in God’s presence. She poured her life into others, and despite health difficulties, maintained a positive spirit. Predeceased by 3 siblings, Herta is mourned by Walter and Lena Voth, Lena Voth, Vera Voth, John and Martha Voth, Susanna Voth Wiebe, Ben and Erna Falk, Walt and Edith Wichert, George and Kae Froese; Mukai, Rujeko, Tinaye Muza; 3 generations of nieces and nephews.
