Henry Schulz died Dec. 3, 2007 after a 16-year struggle with cancer. He was born Jan. 25, 1922 to Daniel and Elizabeth Peters in south Russia. His parents died soon after and he was adopted by Peter and Helen Schulz, who immigrated to Canada. He grew up on a farm in Kronsgart, Man., and later Homfield. Henry married Nettie Wiebe Sept. 23, 1950 and took over the family farm, doing lots of construction and hauling coal. Henry and Nettie raised 5 children and many foster children. They moved to Killarney in 1977 where Henry managed a chemical plant and kept up the arena in winter. He was active in the community, and his sense of humour was well known. Henry loved and served the Lord in practical ways, including children’s and youth ministries. He is mourned by Nettie; children Lloyd (Arlene), Esther (Ron) Dawson, Peter (Linda), Mary (Albert) Zubert, Paul (Darlene); 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.
