Grant McLean died Jan. 15, 2011. He was born Dec. 20, 1954 in Burnaby, B.C. to Don and Ellen McLean. In 1973, he was baptized into Westminster Gospel Chapel, Burnaby. Grant married Carol Oelsner Mar. 16, 1991. A nationally recognized artist and gifted physiotherapist, his art inspired many and his healing hands aided more. Grant was a devoted husband, father, son, and brother, and a compassionate friend. He had a love for music, a sense of humour, and a talent for ventriloquism. Grant had an unbreakable faith and spirit, which reassured him in the final months of his illness. As Eric Liddell’s character said of running in the film Chariots of Fire, when Grant painted, he felt God’s pleasure. Grant led a life of grace, courage, integrity, and humility. Predeceased by son-in-law Dan Loyst, Grant is mourned by Carol; daughters Jennifer Loyst, Kathryn, Holly.
