Frieda Hiebert died May 13, 2010. She was born July 3, 1935 in Dalton, Man. to David and Susanna (Kroeger) Pries. She took the early grades at Dalton School, Grades 6−11 in Alexander, Man., and Grade 12 in Winker, Man. As a teen, with her sister’s guidance, Frieda committed her life to God. In 1951, she was baptized and joined Griswold (Man.) MB Church. Frieda married John Hiebert July 7, 1956, and the couple farmed together for their nearly 54 years of marriage. Frieda taught Sunday school and VBS and took pride in her garden. She was not afraid to try new things, such as learning to use a computer. She had surgery to treat cancer Apr. 27, 2010, from which she did not recover. Predeceased by 2 siblings, Frieda is mourned by John; son Jim (Bernice); 5 grandchildren; siblings; in-laws. The funeral was May 19 at Richmond Park MB Church in Brandon, Man.
