Ferdinand (Fred) John Wall died Dec. 25, 2010 at 95. He was born May 12, 1915 in Rush Lake, Sask. to John and Susanna (Bergen) Wall. The family farmed near Swift Current, Sask., where life was shaped by their MB community, the Depression, and WWII. As a child, Fred made a commitment to Christ. He enjoyed church music and Sunday school ministries. Fred completed teacher’s college and taught near Swift Current for 2 years, and then, earned a BCom from George Washington University, Washington, D.C. After the war, he moved to Vancouver, where he met and married Frieda Friesen, raised a family, and enjoyed working as a tax accountant for the private sector and the federal government. He attended Tenth Avenue Alliance Church, Vancouver, for many years. He attributed his long life to his faith, family, and work, and to eating fresh fruit, taking long walks, and drinking herbal tea.
