After Bethany Bible Institute and WWII alternative service, David married local girl Rosie and entered ministry. He pastored Compass MB, 1950–1957. With 3 small children and a move to Winnipeg, David completed high school. A fourth child arrived as David received his BTh at 40; he earned his BA 2 years later. After pastoring other churches, finishing with South Abbotsford MB, in 1972, David became a real estate agent. David and Rosie were chaplains at Tabor Home, Abbotsford, 1982–86. Rosie died in 1996. Having known each other since their youth, David married Irene in 1997. They shared travel, church, prayer meetings, choirs and volunteering.
