David Donald Vogt died Aug. 14, 2011. He was born Aug. 26, 1924 in Borden, Sask. to David Peter and Anna Vogt. David graduated from University of Saskatchewan with a BA in 1946, and with a doctor of dental surgery from University of Toronto in 1951. His studies were interrupted by a 10-month stint with the medical corps. He began his 35-year dental practice in Chilliwack, B.C., in 1951. In 1952, David married Bertha Hoppe. David volunteered for the Gideons, M2/W2 prison visitation, MCC, Campus Crusade, and Stillwood Camp. He studied at MB Biblical Seminary, Fresno, Cal., 1957–58. David enjoyed singing in a men’s choir and the barbershop chorus. A member of Broadway Church, Chilliwack, for more than 50 years, David lived a life of faithful service. People could readily see his love for God and others through his commitment to community, business, church, and missions. Predeceased by 4 siblings, David is mourned by Bertha; children Judy (Ted) Lea, Cathy (Alan) Gregson, David (Carol), Rob, Don, Tom; 5 grandchildren; 3 siblings.
