Anne Thiessen died Oct. 13, 2009 at 90. She was born Jan. 17, 1919 in Elizabethtal, Ukraine to Cornelius and Elizabeth Baerg. At 6, Anne immigrated with her family to Sask. and later to Coaldale, Alta. She was baptized as a teen. Anne married Nick Thiessen in 1940, and they settled on a farm near Vauxhall, Alta. In 1965, they moved to Edmonton, where Anne worked in childcare and as a nurse’s aid at Central Park Lodge. Anne and Nick were ordained as deacons in Lendrum MB Church. Anne loved to express her faith through hospitality. Predeceased by daughter Esther, brother Jake, sister Mary; Anne is mourned by Nick; children Bob (Marianne), Jeanette, Paul (Evangeline), Gerry (Grace), Jim (Ingrid), Grace (Jim) Neudorf; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters.
