Andrew Hanna Atoui died Feb. 8, 2009. He was born Feb. 22, 1986 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to Hanna and Nahi Atoui. He was strong in spirit from birth and had a stable Christian upbringing which gave him the wings he needed to inspire others. In 1994, Andrew’s family moved to Richmond, B.C. His interests included rock climbing, camping, snowboarding, dirtbiking, archery, firearms, pyrotechnics, skateboarding, surfing, guitar, drums, motorcycles, photography, and auto mechanics. After high school graduation, he worked in a number of areas, then finished a college diesel mechanics program and worked in a shop. Camera in hand, Andrew travelled to the U.S., Europe, Lebanon, and Australia, capturing through his lens the beauty of the people and places he visited. A faithful follower of Christ, Andrew was a strong man with a soft heart. He gave himself to Jesus at 11 and was baptized at 15. Through his active involvement at South Hill Church in Vancouver, and TREK summer camps, Andrew quickly endeared himself to everyone he met. While on a visit to Australia, Andrew and his friend Arno were involved in a fatal car accident, and went to be with their Saviour. Andrew is mourned by his parents Hanna and Nahi; siblings Steven (Erma), Philip (Claudine), Marc; nieces Maya, Salama.
