Deaths_AMammelAlbert Mammel died Feb. 25, 2012. He was born Nov. 24, 1930 in Silver Heights, Alta. to Friedrich and Anna Mammel. His family worshipped in the German Lutheran church, and he accepted the Lord in his teens. When Albert was 15, his family moved to Sardis, B.C. Albert married Gladys Thiessen Dec. 12, 1952. They attended Christian Training Centre, Calgary, in 1955. Albert was a delivery driver for Eaton’s for 11 years. He worked 10 years at a Texaco station, owning it for the last 5. In 1977, Albert and Gladys bought Grama’s Kitchen. After moving to Airdrie, Alta., to retire, Albert bought a glass shop with his son. For 40 years, they were faithful members of Full Gospel Church, Calgary, where Albert served as usher and deacon. In 2001, they moved to Linden, Alta., where Albert served as village councillor and board member. Albert and Gladys joined Linden MB Church, where Albert enjoyed welcoming visitors. Albert was diagnosed with cancer in summer 2011. Albert is mourned by Gladys; children Cindy (Leon) Hansen, Cheryl, Daniel (Judy), Melanie (Scott) McCaffrey; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 4 siblings.
