Ahyede_deathsAdeline Heyde died Mar. 2, 2012. She was born Oct. 20, 1938 in Friedensruh, Paraguay to Peter H. Epp and Katarina Janzen. Her mother’s illness forced a move to Filadelfia, Paraguay. When Adeline was 12, her mother died, and Adeline ran the household. At 18, she graduated from Filadelfia hospital as a nurse and began working there full-time. On a 1961 trip to visit brothers in Buenos Aires, Argentina, a job opportunity at the hospital opened up, and she stayed. She attended Iglesia Evangelical Church, where she met Victor Heyde. They married June 16, 1962. Adeline and Victor immigrated to Canada in 1964, settling in St. Catharines, Ont., where they attended Scott Street MB Church. They moved to Vancouver in 1975, and attended Vancouver MB Church (now South Hill). Since Canada did not recognize her nursing degree, Adeline cleaned homes. In 2010, on vacation in Mexico, she was diagnosed with endometrial cancer. Adeline was known for her hospitality, encouragement, energy and faith, serving at MCC sales, TREK camp, and church. Adeline is mourned by Victor; children Bernd, Rudolf, Ronald, Ferdinand; grandchildren; 3 siblings.
