Abe became a Christian in 1950. He was an active church member, teaching Sunday school and leading Bible studies. Abe is fondly remembered by many students he taught in his 27 years with Mission (B.C.) school district at Bell Road, Mission Central, and Edwin S. Richards elementary schools. He enjoyed gardening, camping, travelling, sports, classical music, and photography. Abe was a devoted father and husband. He fought Parkinson’s disease with dignity and determination for 24 years, living life as fully as possible.
