Gil-ImageBethany College adjusted academic staff roles in fall. With the job of academic dean expanding, the board and leadership team appointed Gil Dueck as academic dean to focus on strategic direction, accreditation Rick-imagerenewal, and faculty oversight. Rick McCorkindale, who deals with the tactical, practical, day-to-day and student academic functions of the college now carries the title of registrar. Bethany’s approach to education “values the place of academics within the church while continually seeking to integrate it within a holistic model of Christian discipleship,” says Dueck. He looks forward to the “opportunity to give leadership in this vital area.”

Paul McIlwraith, pastor at Waterloo (Ont.) MB Church for 15 years, most recently serving as teaching pastor after stepping out of the role of lead pastor, completed his last Sunday with the congregation Jan. 20.
