Curtis Klassen began as associate pastor of youth and young adults at Elmwood MB Church, Winnipeg, July 2. Currently studying toward a BA in church ministries at Canadian Mennonite University, he previously worked with La Salle (Man.) Community Fellowship, and as youth sponsor at Elmwood. Curtis is married to April.

Kristen Willems
has been appointed director of children’s ministry at Parliament Community Church, Regina, starting Aug. 3. A long-time attender at Parliament, she completed one year at Millar College of the Bible, has worked with Child Evangelism Fellowship, and has taught Sunday school and volunteered with midweek programs at Parliament for several years.

Kris Peters began as associate pastor at Linden (Alta.) MB Church Aug. 9, where he will oversee children, youth, young people, small groups, and music ministry. He studied at Millar College of the Bible and has an MDiv from Regent College. He pastored Westview Community Church in Grassy Lake, Alta., from 2000–2008. He and Carla have 3 children.

Lendrum MB Church welcomed 2 pastors at the beginning of August. Chris Friesen was associate pastor at Lendrum from 2002–2006, served as interim pastor since Jan. 2009, and has now accepted an ongoing role as pastor. He has an MA in theology from MBBS, and has also worked as a teacher and MCC worker in a northern First Nations community. He and Louise have 5 children, all of whom are members of the Friesen Family Band. Michael Pahl holds an MDiv from Prairie Graduate School and a PhD from University of Birmingham, England. He has taught at Prairie Bible College, Ambrose Seminary, and is a sessional instructor at King’s University College, Edmonton, in fall 2009. He and Larissa have 4 children: Amelia, Michael, Matthew, and Adalynn.

Camp Bob appointed Les Klassen as full-time executive director, beginning Sept. 2, 2009. He takes over from Barry Falk, who stepped down after 15 years. The Klassens have been involved in camp ministry for many years and were instrumental in founding Camp Bob on Roberts Lake, Vancouver Island, B.C. Les and Val have spent the last 4 years in Mexico with IDT Ministries. Camp Bob is 1 of 5 MB camps operating in B.C.

Doug and Naomi Enns of Winnipeg, along with their daughter Hannah, are serving 3-year terms in Chad. Doug will serve in a peace and reconciliation capacity, and Naomi’s role is yet to be determined. Doug has a BA from Trinity Western University and an MA from MBBS. Naomi has a BN from California State University in Fresno, Cal. The Ennses attend River East MB Church, Winnipeg.
