Bakerview MB Church, Abbotsford, B.C., welcomed 2 long-serving members into official pastoral capacity at the start of summer.Duane Bradley, who began as an intern in 2009, was hired as bivocational associate pastor of worship arts for the contemporary service, starting June 12. He worked in the film industry for 12 years before heading to Columbia Bible College, Abbotsford, for a BA in worship arts. He currently also works in the photography industry. Duane and Petina have 3 children.

Stephanie Sawatzky started as associate pastor of children’s ministries July 1. She has a BEd from Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, B.C., and has worked as an elementary school teacher and music teacher, in addition to directing summer children’s programs and interim children’s ministries at Bakerview. Stephanie and Cameron have 3 children.

Jon Isaak was appointed executive secretary of the MB Historical Commission at its June 8–9 meeting in Fresno, Cal. The commission is a jointly sponsored ministry of the U.S. and Canadian MB conferences. Jon will add these duties to his role as director of the Centre for Mennonite Brethren Studies, Winnipeg. He replaces Andrew Dyck who will join the faculty of MBBS Canada, in affiliation with the graduate program of Canadian Mennonite University, Winnipeg.
