Camp Evergreen director Kerry Precht resigned effective Mar. 23 after nearly 4 years in the role. While the board searches for a new director, Andrew Baerg, board chair and  software developer in Calgary, is serving as interim director. Site manager Dave Reimer resigned in January after 6 years in the role. Rolf Amann, a “long-time neighbour and friend of the camp” has taken up the post

After 3 years of reaching those disillusioned with church in Vancouver’s Dunbar and UBC area, Urban Journey closed Mar. 31. B.C.’s church planting board could no longer offer financial assistance, and the church of students and young families didn’t have resources to continue. In addition to the 60 Sunday-evening attenders, Urban Journey regularly shared God’s love with 20–25 neighbourhood families. At the closing service, many shared they’d found a place to be real and ask hard questions. “Our calling hasn’t changed,” say planters Rebecca and Andrew Stanley, “we’re still here to love people.” Rebecca plans to continue law studies at UBC, and Andrew seeks God’s direction for employment.
