Beginning at 1 p.m. Eastern Time, the young congregation of The Living Room Montreal, a C2C church plant, will drop to their knees.
At the Apr. 14 service, several members spoke from personal experience on spending time listening to and learning from God in prayer; then, within moments of the service’s conclusion, the students and young professionals of The Living Room filled every slot on a chalkboard schedule calling for prayer from 1 p.m. Apr 19 to 4 p.m. Apr. 21 (when the church service starts).
Each hour for two days, a volunteer will pray for the provision of funds to purchase a house for pastor couple Michael and Michele Jones. Having struggled to remain securely housed as the regular flow of people in and out of their open-door ministry home makes them unpopular with landlords, the Jones have the opportunity to purchase a standalone house in a Montreal neighbourhood where they feel called to minister among broken families and low-income residents. With the closing date of June 1 approaching, they are dependent on God to bring together the amount needed to secure the house.
“This prayer us not just for the house, but for each member of the congregation,” said Jones. The Living Room congregation believes their prayers will build them up in faith and unity regardless of the outcome, and they invite others to join them in prayer.
