Thelma’s dad died when she was 9, leaving her mother and the 6 children to maintain the farm during the Depression. As a student in her 20s, Thelma accepted Jesus as Saviour and desired to serve him by telling others about him. She attended Vancouver Bible Institute and Missionary Health Institute, Lansing, Ont. Beginning in 1952, for nearly 40 years, Thelma worked in India, where she met Tom. She went with him to Ireland to meet his family. They were married almost 3 years when he died of cancer. Thelma returned to mission work in India. She loved the people and did everything to introduce them to Jesus. Thelma retired to Abbotsford, B.C., where she worked with Evangelism Encouragers at Clearbrook MB Church in prayer and visitation.
