deaths-selmaIn 1939, Selma’s family moved to Justice, Man., where she began singing in the choir and the choir director Peter Wiebe led her to accept Christ. Singing and reciting poems were precious to her. After attending Winkler (Man.) Bible Institute, she taught Sunday school and led the Sunday school choir. She was grateful to see the birth of her first great-grandchild. Selma devoted her life to serving her husband, children, and grandchildren. Selma and Jacob cared for more than 200 First Nations foster children over an 8-year period, loving them as their own and leading many to know Jesus. Selma worked as a secretary for Elmwood MB Church, and North Kildonan MB Church, and H.W. Redekopp’s business. Selma and Jacob retired to Brandon, Man., to be closer to their children. In retirement, she learned to quilt.
