Deathst-Norman-PennerNorman accepted Christ at a young age. He attended normal school and taught in several one-room schools. At Herbert Bible School, he met Olga. Their desire to serve God and Norman’s love of learning led them to Medicine Hat, Alta. He completed his BEd and worked as a teacher-librarian until retirement. Norman served Crestwood MB Church, Medicine Hat, as Sunday school superintendent, Boys Brigade leader, deacon, and as church librarian with Olga. He served the board at Bethany Bible Institute while his children attended. After retiring from teaching, Norman owned a bookstore for 7 years. He volunteered with Ten Thousand Villages. His hobbies included reading, computers, and enjoying people. Norman was known for his sense of humour, conscientiousness, listening ear, and encouraging words. In his last years, Alzheimer’s disease slowly robbed his memory, but his smile remained.
