Harry Peters died Oct. 29, 2010. He was born Sept. 23, 1928 on a farm near Ile des Chenes, Man. to Jacob and Elizabeth Isaak Peters. Harry moved to Winnipeg to complete high school, graduating from MB Collegiate Institute in 1951. In 1955, Harry married Louise Dick. Harry was hired at Crosstown Credit Union in 1956 and became manager in 1964. He guided Crosstown through many changes until his retirement in 1993. Harry lived a life of service, volunteering with Camp Arnes, Christian Service Brigade, the Gideons, Mennonite Central Committee, Christian Business Men, and as a deacon in his church. In March 2010, Harry was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). He approached his illness with dignity and grace. Predeceased by granddaughter Elise Sinclair-Peters, all his siblings; Harry is mourned by Louise; children Allan (Kathy), Joanne (Charles) Dueck, James (Christine); David (Louise) Sinclair-Peters; Richard (Anita); 12 grandchildren. The memorial was at Portage Avenue Church, Winnipeg.
