Ernie accepted Christ at a young age and continued to grow in faith. He was a fun-loving youth who enjoyed playing hockey, listening to music, and restoring his Oldsmobile Cutlass. Ernie developed his work ethic and love for homebuilding when he joined his older brother at jobsites, and his love for farming when his family began raising chickens. He spent a year at University of Fraser Valley, B.C., and studied agricultural poultry science at University of B.C. Ernie and Rosie farmed in Abbotsford, B.C. Ernie was pleased that his children were following their dreams and looked forward to the birth of his first grandchild. He had a compassionate heart and always made time for people.
