Elsie Wiens

Elsie Wiens died Nov. 12, 2010. She was born Mar. 15, 1928 in Provost, Alta. to Cornelius and Agatha Heinrichs. The family moved to Glenbush, Sask., and Elsie attended high school in Hepburn, Sask. She completed her nurse’s training in 1951 at Grace Hospital, Winnipeg. Elsie married Oscar Wiens Oct. 31, 1953. They moved to Arnaud, Man., in 1956, and in 1975, they moved to Regina, where they were part of O & T Poultry Farms. Elsie was dedicated to Parliament Community Church. She volunteered with the Cancer Clinic in Regina many years. She showed God’s love by caring for and hosting others in her home. Predeceased by Oscar in 2003, Elsie is mourned by children Don (Elaine), Ruth (Wes) Braun, Teresa (Ken) Geddert; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 6 siblings; in-laws.
