Deaths-Dorothy-UnrauDorothy grew up in Kelowna, B.C. She attended Briercrest Bible College, Caronport, Sask., where she met John. In 1963, they began church planting in Germany. While caring for small children, Dorothy worked tirelessly alongside John in ministry, administrative duties, homework, and housework. German friends loved her pie socials. Many, comforted and encouraged by her tender touch and kind words, joined the church. In 1975, the Unraus joined Janz Team ministries. They returned to Canada in 1981 to pastor Scott Street MB Church, St. Catharines, Ont.; Yarrow (B.C.) Mennonite Church; and Eben-Ezer Mennonite Church, Abbotsford, B.C. John’s heart attack and stroke began a time of travelling. Dorothy’s main commitment was caring for John, but she took time to encourage everyone. Until dementia, she was a lively conversationalist. Dorothy’s tattered Bible testifies to a life of desiring God. As John read her John 14:1–3, she took her last breath.
