Deaths-Alfred-DAlfred had a happy childhood. In the 1940s, the family moved to St. Catharines, Ont., and joined St. Catharines MB Church (later Scott Street MB), where he met Aggie in the youth singing group. They spent the rest of their life together serving at Scott Street MB Church. Alfred finished an apprenticeship as an electrician, working first in construction, later at Port Weller Dry Docks, and as a maintenance electrician at Brock University. He enjoyed his interactions at work and entertained his family at suppertime with anecdotes. Alfred’s passions were family, faith, and music. A strong tenor, he sang in church choirs, small groups, and as a soloist. Though this expression of his love to God was taken from him as his throat cancer progressed, he never lost his devotion to God and family. His was a life lost in wonder, love, and praise.
